The Gleamery
The Gleamery is a venture-backed health & wellness startup focused on reinventing the dental industry. The Gleamery is building the first national dental brand specializing in professional grade, expeditious teeth whitening and cleaning. The Gleamery’s studios will have a hospitality and design focused ethos and a seamless, technology enabled customer experience. The first two locations are opening in Portland, Oregon, one in September and the other later this year. The Gleamery will open studios in cities across the U.S., building a nationwide brand leader in preventive and cosmetic dental care. The Gleamery is looking to recruit exceptionally talented individuals to join our mission-driven team.

 

The Opportunity
We are looking for an experienced, driven and entrepreneurial Director of Strategy and Operations. This candidate will help with the most critical challenges the company faces through rigorous problem solving and execution. This role is right for you if:

THE ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Own projects across a wide range of functions to develop, enhance, and execute on the strategic operational plan, overseeing initiatives and resource allocation

  • Develop high standards for execution to meet KPIs and financial metrics

  • Develop scalable operational plans for The Gleamery’s growth across the country

  • Identify performance opportunities with a focus on constantly improving unit economics without sacrificing on customer experience and satisfaction

  • Implement core operating initiatives and processes, working cross-functionally across strategy, finance, real estate, operations, and marketing

  • Use data to glean key insights into performance and financial trends, leveraging leading indicators in the current business to dictate future strategy

  • Drive growth and improvements in margin and profitability through effective business planning, partnering with the leadership team to achieve alignment on goals and how to achieve them

  • Spearhead research- explore and analyze markets and trends in the oral wellness industry, perform competitive analyses and identify current best practices and market leaders

  • Set and deliver on aggressive deadlines and drive yourself and the team around you to action, approaching the work with a no-ego attitude and rolling up your sleeves to tackle whatever needs to be done

 

THE CANDIDATE

  • 7+ years experience in consulting, finance, strategy, and/or operations

  • Experience at a high-growth startup is a plus but not required

  • Strong analytical skills and a creative approach to solving unstructured problems

  • Experience leading cross-functional initiatives, with strong project management skills to meet deadlines and gain adoption

  • A demonstrated ability to lead teams of diverse skill sets and obtain alignment

  • Effective decision making and interpersonal skills, direct experience managing independent workstreams

  • A bias for action and confident making decisions

  • Ability to manage ambiguity

  • A degree in business, management, or related field

  • Exceptional communication, excel and influencing skills

  • Bonus if you’ve worked at a next generation consumer/retail brand supporting growth
