The Gleamery is a venture-backed health & wellness startup focused on reinventing the dental industry. The Gleamery is building the first national dental brand specializing in professional grade, expeditious teeth whitening and cleaning. The Gleamery’s studios have a hospitality and design focused ethos and a seamless, technology enabled customer experience. The business opened its first location in Portland, Oregon, in September 2022 and has a strategic plan to open studios across the U.S. in major cities, building a leading, nationwide brand in preventive and cosmetic dental care. The Gleamery is looking to recruit exceptionally talented individuals to join our mission-driven team.


The Opportunity

We are looking for an experienced, driven and entrepreneurial Director of Operations. This role will manage day-to-day operations of the Gleamery’s initial clinics- creating scalable operating playbooks across scheduling, KPIs/reporting, inventory, onboarding, training, etc., for future clinic openings. This role is based in Portland and will spend time in the HQ office and across the Gleamery Studios. This candidate will help deal with the most critical challenges the company faces through rigorous problem solving and execution. This role is right for you if:

  • Own and develop scalable operational plans for The Gleamery across in-clinic processes, technology, reporting, and team development, from end-to-end

  • Spend time in clinic to learn the business and lead by example- sparking positive improvement

  • Own projects across a wide range of functions to develop, enhance, and execute on the strategic operational plan, overseeing initiatives and resource allocation

  • Develop high standards for execution to meet KPIs and financial metrics to help define business playbooks and key metrics that determine success

  • Identify performance opportunities with a focus on constantly improving unit economics without sacrificing on customer experience and satisfaction

  • Identify pain points within the business and develop the solutions that fix them

  • Implement core operating initiatives and processes, working cross-functionally across finance, operations, customer experience, and marketing

  • Use data to glean key insights into performance and financial trends, leveraging leading indicators in the current business to dictate future strategy

  • Drive growth and improvements in margin and profitability through effective business planning, partnering with the leadership team to achieve alignment on goals and how to achieve them

  • Set and deliver on aggressive deadlines and drive yourself and the team around you to action, approaching the work with a no-ego attitude and a triage mindset of rolling up your sleeves to tackle whatever needs to be done



  • 7+ years experience in operations experience, preferably with other retail service businesses in healthcare

  • Experience at a high-growth startup or in finance/consulting is a plus

  • Strong analytical skills and a creative approach to solving unstructured problems

  • Strong quantitative skills including financial modeling and analysis

  • Experience leading cross-functional initiatives, with strong project management skills to meet deadlines and gain adoption

  • Effective decision making and interpersonal skills, direct experience managing independent workstreams

  • Resourceful and able to to execute with a high-level of autonomy

  • A bias for action and confident making decisions

  • Ability to manage ambiguity

  • A degree in business, management, or related field

  • Exceptional communication, excel and influencing skills
